Service Description

We specialize in working with reactive dogs and helping them overcome overarousal. Our seminar will equip you with the tools you need to train your dog to make great choices. Join us for our 6 week SEMI PRIVATE Behavior Adjustment Training Workshop. It will teach you the latest techniques in desensitization, counter-conditioning, and environmental setup to empower your dog to make great choices. Dogs will work one at a time, and the very carefully managed group is limited to two dogs. Students will learn from working with their own dogs as well as carefully studying and observing the other dog in class work through the exercises. Open to all people and dogs regardless of experience. We will be rehearsing skills practice before working with our dogs. When the dogs are out to work we will be working one at a time. Other dogs will be resting in their vehicles or kennels. Feel free to bring a person to assist your dog while resting to help allow you to learn from the other teams without being too distracted by your own dog as you will be observing other dog and handler teams in between turns. All dogs must have an appropriate harness with a back clip option to participate. Harnesses can be purchased at our session. Please note we will be inside the classroom for some skills learning and discussion, but the actual BAT sessions will most likely be outside rain or shine! Be prepared with good footwear and outerwear! Topics include: -Leash Handling for long lines -Emergency maneuvers -Dog body language observation & assessment of arousal levels -Understanding your dog's needs and how to meet them -Teaching your dog to offer appropriate dog behaviours -Desensitization to triggers -Environmental management, setup and enrichment -When to assist your dog and much more! We would love to have you join us! Very limited spaces!
