Pet Therapy Enriching the lives of seniors (and me!)
Both Robyn’s dogs Rudy and Ty are certified Therapy Dogs and make the rounds to various facilities, including the Kiwanis Seniors Lodge. They have been visiting there for 4 years now, and we all have great friends at the Lodge. Both dogs are excited to get there each week and often pull me right in the front doors to go and visit their favorites.Read More

School Presentations Teaching children to be kind to animals
Best Paw Forward Dog Training is excited to launch two interactive programs designed for elementary school age students. These dog related programs are tailored to the age of the class and will star one of Best Paw Forward’s well trained dogs, Rudy and Ty. Both certified therapy dogs, they are great with all people, children especially and both love their classroom time. All proceeds from this program are being donated to Cancer Research in Dogs.
Be Your Pets Best Friend (preschool – grade 2. 1 hour)
This program covers the needs and wants from our furry friends, why we have pets and what we should think about before owning a pet for the first time. We teach the kids what the important things are when caring for an animal and, along with my dog, show the kids what needs my dog has specifically. My dog will also demonstrate some specific needs, as well as some tricks at the end. This program is geared for the younger class and is very interactive with the kids.
Don’t Bite! (Grade 3 – 7. 1 hour)
This interactive program gives the students a better understanding of canine body language and how to avoid being bitten by a dog. We cover when and how to properly approach a dog, as well as when not to. Pictures and a short video are shown as part of this program, as well as some training demonstrations with my dog. All students will then have a chance to practice what they have learned with one of my dogs.
These programs are by donation, with all proceeds being donated to Cancer Research in Dogs. Please contact Robyn to book a presentation, at 250.729.3900 or firstname.lastname@example.org
